Do you get 2,000 questions a day from your children? Sometimes it can be a bit much but I always stop and remind myself they are growing. Their brains are constantly processing information and soaking up all the knowledge they can. They are constantly learning new skills daily. A few days later my daughter and me sat down to build her Kiwi Crate. She is 5 and the sweeper was the perfect activity for her. First was the painting of the whales for the side of her sweeper. I showed her how to clean her brush between colors and let her color her whales exactly how she wanted to. She loved that her painting was going to be part of her new sweeper. Once he finished painting both of her whales we moved onto building her sweeper. I handed her the parts in order as she followed the directions. She got suck a few times we both took that time to reflect on what she did and what was the proper set. It didn’t take us very long to finish her sweeper. We finished right as my husband was coming home and she couldn’t wait to show her dad what she made. She was so proud to share all about how she made it all by herself and even painted it too!
My oldest couldn’t wait to start his Tinker Crate so I let him start while I did some things around the house. When we build his crates, because he is 9, I let him do the whole thing unless he gets stuck or can’t figure out something. This month he got a hydraulic claw. He was able to build almost everything without my help. There was one spot where he didn’t understand what the directions were saying. I explained it to him and showed him and then let him finish that part himself. He was so proud once him claw was built. He went into his room and started picking up everything he could him his claw. He loves that hydraulic claw.
