I wanted to share with you guys a little bit more of my house. We got this house last November and it is what you would call a builder grade home. To start let me explain what builder grade means. Builder grade or contractor grade is defined as using low cost (inexpensive) materials instead of custom or high end materials. We do live in a master planned community and we love our community. What I don’t love is that all the houses are the same inside. I decided when we moved that we will slowly make the changes to our house over time because this is our forever house.
I love the farmhouse style and I decided I want my house to be a southwestern farmhouse. While farmhouse is my main inspiration I also wanted to bring in elements of the southwestern culture we are surrounded by. The first area of my house I wanted to feature is my kitchen. It is the least farmhouse styled area of my house. It has cherry cabinets with green counters. Yes they are green! Not my idea kitchen at all but I make it work for us. We don’t have the budget to renovate the kitchen and wont for a few years so I rely on elements to bring in my farmhouse style at this time. One day this kitchen will look completely different but I am making the most of it until that day. Here is what I have been able to do in my kitchen so far. I hope you guys enjoy!
oh and don’t mind my dirty dishwasher because you know real life.
