When we arrived at the decision to adopt pets, I tried my best to make sure my kids understood what having pets entailed. I wanted them to know that the daily care of our dog and cat will be their responsibility. They are required to feed, water, clean up the after both the animals, bathe both and give them treats. So I rotate three treats through the day between our three children. Calvin goes first when we wake up. Chloe gives them their treat around lunch time. Robert is last and gives them their last treat before bed.
