What a crazy few months we have been though. Like many people our family has been spending more time at home over the last few months. That is why we jumped at the chance to take a short family vacation to the Legoland Hotel in California when we seen they were opening. We couldn’t pass up the $169 a night offer and the opportunity to get out of the house as a family.
We ended up choosing a Traditional Suite for our stay because the price difference between a traditional room and suite was only a few dollars. Now Legoland has taken a lot of steps to ensure they are meeting all current guidelines for safe operations.
Our room was the perfect for our family. One of the reasons we love the Legoland hotel is they offer sleeping room for 5 people in even their base rooms. Having three kids that means everyone has this own spot to sleep without sharing. That in it’s self is a huge benefit as a family. Out room had 1 king size bed for the adults, 1 twin size bunk bed with a pull our trundle and we even got an extra queen sized pullout sofa bed.
Another part of the Legoland Hotel we love as parents is the theme of the rooms and how it keeps the kids entertained looking at all the elements in the room. There is also Lego’s in the room to allow for additional entertainment through your stay.
While Brick’s the buffet restaurant is currently closed the other on property restaurant Skyline Cafe is open for both patio dining reservations and pick up orders. We used both services and they were amazing. Sitting next to the pool on the patio in the cool weather was a welcomed change for us because we came from Arizona with 100+ degree weather. When we ere tired the pick up option was great because all we had to do was place our order online and walk down to the restaurant and it was placed in a bag on the table with your parties name and you grabbed it and were on your way.
Last was Legoland had The Big Shop open inside the park and that was a fun way to get the kids a new toy and get out of the room for a bit. Upon arriving to shop they take your temperature and all party members 2 and over and required to wear a mask. Once you get to the store entrance you must sanitize your hands and that allows you to touch anything inside the store. Outside they have a few Lego statues for your viewing pleasure and that was a huge surprise for my kids. While they were sad the park is closed they were happy to see some bright colorful Lego statues.
One of the biggest draws for us to visit was the fact Legoland had the pools open. We do not have a pool at home so the ability to go swimming on property was a huge bonus for us. The changes required are you have to reserve a time slot to swim. They are 90 minute swimming session and they allow for a cleaning/sanitizing time between each session. To help with allowing all guest the chance to get pool time both pools at the Legoland Hotel and the Castle Hotel were open for guest.
If you are near Legoland California and need a break I strongly suggest booking a stay. You can’t beat their current price and the getaway is a great break from being home for the last few months.
