Pregnancy is a beautiful time in a woman’s life. Your body goes through a lot of changes during the process of growing a human inside you. Some of those changes are beautiful, such as your growing belly. Other changes are not as easy to share with others. I got a gift from my sister in law when I was pregnant with my first child. It was everything I didn’t know I needed. I took her gift idea and passed it forward to all of my friends and family members who were pregnant. This my nontraditional new mom gift set. I include items for all the unpleasant parts of pregnancy and postpartum. There are things you don’t even think you would experience during pregnancy until you are expecting and others tell you. Having a pad available to bring is a great help for those small things helps a lot. We all know what happens after you have a baby and giving a new mom some pads helps save her from having to make a trip to the store with the baby.
The last item I include is a pair of comfortable shorts. After having a baby and at the end of pregnancy you don’t want anything that is tight. So I give shorts that are a size bigger than usual. This way you can donate them once your body has that time to heal. When you have a new baby at home and your adjusting to the new normal you want to be as comfortable as possible.
